Marina's House

So he was asking her to get lunch with him but he hadn't officially "asked her out." It had to be a step in the right direction, didn't it? "Well I'm glad you don't have to work that long," she said. "Lunch sounds fantastic - maybe we could go to l'Ambrosia again?"

She didn't want to come right out and say it but the only reason she wanted to go there was because she knew Carlie would not be working. Honestly she did like that restaurant but her cousin was almost a hindrance. After her last conversation between the three of them...

"Yeah, L'Ambrosia sounds great," he said with a smile.

Giving her a quick peck on the lips, he said, "Well, I should get going. See you later."

Smiling, he headed off to shower and go to Auror HQ.

[[ooc: wanna post with Llian and Alora at HQ with the scene we talked about last night?]]

She smiled and watched him go, thinking about their almost-date later and going to start getting ready - already.

Llian came back to Marina's house with the baby...and a WHOLE lot of stuff.

All the bags were, right now, miniaturized. Arram had woken up as Llian stopped by Headquarters, so he'd discovered how to make a bottle of formula and had given that to him. And now the baby was just looking around at his new surroundings.

He guessed he had to tell Marina that they couldn't exactly go out to lunch. But it was all right with him...he'd enjoy getting to know Arram a bit better.

Marina came downstairs when she heard Llian walk through the door - and stopped dead in her tracks. "Llian Eppes please...explain to me why you're holding a baby?" she asked, faintly.

It was the last thing she had expected and it was...honestly it was such a shock - did he have a kid she didn't know about from his past life? Was it something else? She was already thinking about all the possibilities - and she frowned.

But the kid - couldn't have been even a year old. And he was...cute. So she crossed over to see - and she did her best to smile - but when Arram blinked up at her she broke into a grin - "He's adorable!"

Of course, she was still very, very curious. "Babysitting?"

Llian looked up at Marina. "Well, it's an interesting story really...we found him at Auror Headquarters, and I volunteered to look after him while we try to figure out what happened to his parents," he explained.

He grinned as Marina remarked on how adorable he was. "He is, isn't he? Well, I hope you don't mind him staying...I'll silence the room so he won't wake you up at night and such."

She sighed - realizing that the arrival of a baby meant Llian would most likely not be in the same bed as her for quite a while. But how could she resent a baby?

"That was very...good of you," she said, finally. "Does he have a name?" At least he wasn't the product of some affair he'd been having, at least he had no dark past.

Llian came downstairs with Arram. The baby needed to eat extremely often, so Llian was now getting him another bottle. He'd been adjusting to the whole routine slowly but surely, and he was now sort of used to only getting about two hours of sleep at a time.

There was still no progress in the investigation, and, because he had assumed care for the baby, there was little time for him to help much with something other than what he was doing to try and find Gia.

As it was, though, he had spent lots of time with Arram and brought him pretty much wherever he went. At first he'd explained to people the general situation when they assumed Arram was his, but he'd gotten rather tired of it, so there were currently a whole lot of people who thought that he had a child of his own. Oh well...they weren't people he was ever going to see again in his life.

After warming up the bottle and testing it's warmth, he sat down and began feeding Arram.

Marina walked into the kitchen feeling slightly bad, guilty, sad - that kind of thing. Her relationship with Llian was...interesting, and she had no idea where it was going - but she could already feel herself growing tired of him, like it was time to move on to the next guy.

And she wasn't sure what to do, because she adored Llian - her emotions in general were just very conflicting.

"Hey, Llian," she said, kissing his cheek and smiling at Arram. She knew it was because of Arram that he hadn't been able to spend as much time with her - but at the same time, she was never sure if, maybe, it was Meredith, too.

Llian glanced up at Marina, smiling as she kissed his cheek. He really wasn't sure what his situation was with Marina, but the fact didn't really bother him: they'd figure it out as they go along.

"Hey Marina...you just getting up?" he asked her.

She nodded. "Yeah..." She was tired still, and bored.

"I was thinking maybe Carlie could babysit Arram and we could do something together later?" She wanted to make up her mind, what she was going to do in the end, and spending more time with him was the only way to see if things would get better with her, emotions-wise.

Llian nodded, though his focus was on Arram as he was feeding him.

"Sure, sounds good to me," he said. Really, he was up for anything, and it would be nice to have a break from Arram for a while. As much as he adored him, babies were certainly lots of work.

"What did you have in mind?"

"Oh, I don't know," she said, slowly. "Lunch? Some kind of date? Just a walk? Anything really, just give you a break from everything."

She knew he would appreciate that, and she was trying to get him to like her for her instead of because she looked like Dead-Meredith. Not the best reason for a guy to be head over heels for your body. But hey, if it was what got him interested in the first place?

Nothing specific...that was what he liked to hear. Grinning, he said, "Sounds great. I guess we can just decide later?"

Arram finished the bottle so he got up and put it in the sink, after which he proceeded to begin to burp the baby.

"How have you been?" he asked. "I haven't seen you in awhile."

"We can definitely decide later," she said smiling. And then she shrugged. "I've been okay - just the same old, same old, know what I mean? I honestly don't have anything interesting to do these days. And no, I haven't seen much of you - busy with Arram, I know -"

She trailed off, laughing. "The other day a...friend from school came up to me and asked how I'd had a kid so fast and I smacked her across the face and explained your situation...I have to say it was the most fun I think I've had all week."

And then she raised her eyebrows and smirked. "Of course, we could leave Arram with Carlie overnight and you could try to top that, fun-wise."

Smirking, for her idea was most definitely a good one in his mind, he opened his mouth to speak but then thought about it.

After a long moment during which he was most certainly having trouble deciding, he finally said, "I don't think I could do that to Carlie. He's up every two hours, and he's a lot of work. That's not exactly fair."

Besides that, as ego-bruising as it was to think about, he knew that if Arram was out of the house, he wouldn't be doing anything but sleeping. He was exhausted, and it wasn't like he had another person to really split the load with.

She thought about offering to help him out with Arram, but decided that she really wasn't the motherly type and her and children wouldn't go over so well together in the long run. So she'd stay away from that department.

"Yeah, I guess you're right," she said, slowly. "So I suppose we'll have to settle for an afternoon date, then?"

As cute as that baby was, he did get in the way. A lot.

"Guess so," Llian said. Was he a bit disappointed? Perhaps. But he liked taking care of Arram.

Besides, he probably wouldn't have him for too much longer, after all. He was sure that in another few weeks whatever case Headquarters was investigating for him would be closed, either solved and returning the child to his parents or moving the baby to some sort of adoption agency.

"You know," said Marina, thoughtfully. "You're getting so attached to that boy - sometimes I have to wonder. What are you going to do with yourself once he's back out of your hands? Aren't you going to miss him?"

She had to ask, it'd been bugging her for a while now.
